Ellie, our chair, reports on Streatham Choral’s latest social event:
Streatham Choral adopted the end of year accounts and formally concluded the AGM from 2 July 2018 in a shortened rehearsal on Monday. We took advantage of the occasion to host the first cheese and wine night of the year.
As at previous events, there were lashings of cheese, wines and charcuterie, grapes and so forth. Our choir really know how to lay on a spread. Eamonn ran home mid-rehearsal to bring bread still warm from the oven, which tasted divine and went down a treat. One of our new singers wowed everyone with a full platter each of cheese and cured meats – Geraldine wins the award for going above and beyond the call of duty.
The evening was a great success with our new joiners mingling merrily with established singers. Big thanks to everyone who chipped in and tucked in and, hopefully, there will be many more in the future. They may not be so good for the waistline but, for bonding over ‘that’ brie, nothing beats them!
